About Regenerative Farming

Regenerative FarmingThe mission of The Riverview Farm is to develop a genuine regenerative farming experience involving mixed seasonal vegetable crops and fruit trees, all organically grown, as well as creating open grounds for organically-fed livestock.

As part of the regenerative process, a fallow rotation will be implemented by moving livestock to previously cultured fields when out of season.

A fallow is a stage of crop rotation whereby the land is deliberately not used to grow a crop. In traditional agriculture it is used to allow the soil to recover its production potential and to reduce population levels of pests.

Sustainable Farming

When a fallow rotation takes place, the livestock will be moved to an open field location and will be grazing and replenishing natural fertilizer to the soil. Livestock will be comprised of cattle, chickens, possibly goats, and is to be sold as meat source to wholesale distributors and to the hospitality industry.

The ultimate 5-year goal is to establish The Riverview Farm as a diversified, fully organic regenerative farm with Appalachian Grown Certification.
